"Why can't I just buy a copy of the movie for twenty bucks and show it in my town?"

We are often asked, "Why can't I just buy a copy of the movie for twenty bucks and show it in my town?" When a new movie comes out, you usually go to your local cineplex and plunk down ten dollars to enjoy the show. That's called a "first run", and the box office receipts will make or break a movie's success. Later on, the movie comes out on DVD, and you can watch it in your living room.

Our first run begins now. The distribution model we've chosen is an on-line Cineplex, called Brave New Theaters. It's an activist model, where you get to determine where and when the movie will be shown. In previews we learned that Two Angry Moms is really successful when you watch it in a community group and have a discussion after.

Lots of films get funding from big Hollywood studios and financiers. Many films also make money from mainstream theatrical distribution. This film did not receive that type of financing. Instead, like many independent filmmakers around the world, we are developing new methods for financing and distribution.

By purchasing a screening license for Two Angry Moms you are saying that you care about our children's future and you want our message to reach as many people as possible. Your screening license fees will help us repay debt, support our distribution, grow the website and continue to advocate for better food in our kids' schools!

You can purchase a screening license for any venue, large or small, which grants you use of the copyright for one event. You can hold additional screenings at special discounted rates. We're also applying for grants to help further reduce screening pricing.

If you don't find a screening near you, please consider signing up as a host. Brave New Theaters makes it easy, and you will be part of Two Angry Moms First Run!
